My main goal is to help people have fun singing. The first step to making good music is joy. If you love to sing you can learn how.
I have studied voice for twenty years, working with teachers in classical, early music, jazz and folk styles. This eclectic background helps you sing the music you want to sing.
You can expect to experience an assortment of techniques suited to your needs. For example, since a singer’s instrument is their body, you will learn to apply various body movement techniques to your singing practice.
I am a professional musician who has performed at a wide variety of venues. I have participated in numerous studio recording projects including a solo CD "Current Obsessions" which has received air play in New England and Canada. I have sung in a wide variety of choirs and ensembles and I love to make music with all kinds of people.
My under-graduate training in education is the foundation for a series of workshops I have given professionally throughout the US and Canada and in England, including two years at the New England Folk Festival. I recently began to give private lessons.
I have experience teaching both children and adults in a variety of situations and as a professional teacher. I love to teach. It is my goal to help you find and develop abilities already within yourself to allow you to follow your heart.
"I could do this all day!"
"Time went by very quickly!"
"I’ll definitely use the things you taught!"
"The workshop on Performance Anxiety this past weekend was really outstanding. We learned various methods of controlling and overcoming our fears whenever we sit down on the bench to play a service or a recital. The discussions were very intense and it was good to talk about our fears and hopes in a very positive atmosphere." Bob LeFebvre - Dean, New Hampshire Chapter of American Guild of Organists
