Who Makes It?

Aristocraft	This is our first choice. American style (14 ties/foot) is preferred over European style (11 ties/foot), though both are acceptable. We use only brass rail, not aluminum or steel.
USA Trains	This is our second choice; it only comes in European style. Be sure to get brass rail, not aluminum or steel.
LGB	While this is good quality track, we feel that it's overpriced. It also comes only in European style.
Bachmann	Don't get this! It's el cheapo garbage.

What Pieces Do We Need?

Straight Track
- 6" (1/2') - we need a few of these
- 1' - we need lots of these
- 2' - we need several of these
- 3' - we need a few of these
Curved Track
- 4' diameter - too sharp! we cannot use this
- 5' diameter - too sharp! we cannot use this
- 8' diameter - we will need a lot of this
- 10' diameter - we will need some of this
- 20' diameter - we will need a few pieces of this
Flex Track
- we won't be using any of this in the foreseeable future
Switches
- We use only Aristocraft "wide radius" switches, not "standard radius".
- We use only manual, not remote (electric).
Miscellany
- Rerailer - we need one or two of these
- 30 degree crossing - we'd like one of these
- 90 degree crossing - we'd like one of these (only LGB makes it)
- Lighter Bumper - we'd like a few of these
