Anticipated Future Needs

If you're interested in donating rolling stock, see the Vendors page. Any rolling stock that meets WWGR standards (see below) will be appreciated, but especially the following:

Passenger Cars

The WWGR is primarily a freight hauler. However, we may expand our operations in the future to include limited passenger service, particularly we receive a donation of the necessary rolling stock. If and when we do, we will purchase Aristocraft Heavyweight passenger cars in Pennsylvania or Baltimore & Ohio colors, beginning with a coach or combine. (Length 30".) List price $250, street price $145, sale price $90.

Standards

Visiting rolling stock of all sorts is always welcome on the WWGR.
However, rolling stock owned by the WWGR must meet the following standards:

1:29 Scale
The WWGR is a 1:29 scale railroad.
Most Aristocraft equipment is 1:29, except for their "Classic" or "Delton" products, which are 1:24 and thus out of scale.
USA Trains equipment is 1:29.
LGB equipment is 1:22.5, and thus out of scale (not to mention overpriced, in our opinion).

Metal Wheels
The plastic wheels that come on most rolling stock can easily be changed for metal wheels. We prefer black (not silver) Aristocraft wheels, which cost about $10 for a 4-axle set.

Aristocraft Couplers
Other couplers are easily changed for Aristo couplers, which cost a few dollars per pair.

American Prototype
The official WWGR roster is limited to American prototype rolling stock, not European prototype.
(Visiting trains from across the Big Water are, of course, always welcome.)
